Flew to California on Tuesday..Got Jet Blue and took the AIR TRAIN to JFK...THE ONLY WAY TO GO THERE!
Arrived in the morning before 11am in Burbank picked up by friend Clark Bason and by noon was at Orso's having a birthday lunch with the diminutive and extravagantly sweet Zelda Rubinstein of POLTERGEIST fame and her friend David and the commentator Bill Harris. Zelda is terrific person and alway a joy to be with. And the afternoon was a joyt of food and friends.
Stopped by to say a quick hello to pal Calvin Remsberg and by 5pm was in Palm springs for dinner at WANGS restaurant with more pals, Eddie,Dina, Kerry and Greg.
Great food and atmosphere and service..HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
Palm Springs is gorgeous!
Been here 3 days and it has been cool and not over 85 degrees.
The wonderful weather adds to the glory of the magnificent mountains and generous scenery.
Spending time with old and dear friends is a must for regenerating ones battery.
I hope you all will have the opportunity to spend some time in this beautiful place.
Have done the usual vacation stuff...mainly; EAT TOO MUCH..GAMBLE TOO MUCH and Sleep too little.
We visited the gifted and funny and wonderfully warm Kaye Ballard. She was in the JFK hospital after semi knee replacement surgery. Her spirits were high and her undeniable verse was in full force. A great woman with a great spirit and unbounded talent.
Wonderful Artists (painters) out here are friends and their work is so inspiring and even provocative.
